Re: birfday to Keith! |
I was curious what the first show after Keith died was like. Appropriately they played He's Gone. The CC>China>Rider is outstanding.
This version is a little on the high side, but I think I prefer it (set 2 recording is markedly better than set 1):

Oh yeah, and BryanE's story in the comments is pretty amusing. $50 today would be a great find, in 1980 you must have had quite the feast.

Re: birfday to Keith! |
Sometimes I look @ Keith and say to myself "what's she doing with him?" She's a FOX!!! Boy...I just realized I've not used that word in a LONG, LONG time---we need to bring that word back. VIVA FOXEY LADY!!! But she was pretty uber hot, wasn't she? I remember looking at the little booklet of photos from Europe '72 & the picture of here where she's looking up into the sky with a big smile on here face, & I wanted desperately to do some nasty things with/to her. Some of those other photos from the 70's with those tight hip hugging jeans she wore made MY pants tight.
Oh, I forgot this was about Keith. He wasn't as pretty as his wife, but I'm still amazed listening to 10/26/71 right now, at how he was able to swing with the GD right out of the gate. And I have always prefered the piano sounds rather than organs & electronic keyboards. Not to dis GOP's preference for Pig's B3, because there was nothing like Pigpen's singing, organ & harmonica playing, but again, just my own opinion on flavors.
